Chapter Satellite Meetings

OAB meetings provide an excellent opportunity to meet other people who have had similar surgery, listen to professionals in ostomy and diversionary care, and to hear about the latest products on the market. Qualified speakers discuss ostomy related subjects prior to the mutual aid sessions. Appliance equipment and related literature are on display at many of these meetings.

Our meetings are held on a regular basis throughout the year in a number of regional areas in and around Greater Boston. Unless specified below, all OAB satellites meet 5 times per year on alternate months beginning with September and ending in May. In addition, special meetings are held to address the more specific needs of newcomers, gays and lesbians, those with continent diversions, and parents of children with ostomies.

Who can attend?

Anyone who is interested is invited to attend! You don't have to be an OAB member or have had surgery to attend an OAB meeting. Everyone is invited to visit and participate. People who have recently had or are now considering surgery are particularly encouraged to bring family and/or friends. Not sure which meeting is best for you? Check out the list of meeting locations and types or contact the OAB office if you have any questions.
